Tights&Shoes: Modcloth

So these photo's are just a few snap shots of my weekend and its endeavors. January-Grace turned two on Saturday and we spent the day in Bangor. Patrick and I took her shopping, letting her pick some of her own presents, (expensive idea by the way), then we took her to a McDonald's with a play palace! She had the best time and I was a nervous wreck worrying about her falling and getting hurt and such. Some call it over protective, I call it over loving :). I can't wait to see the adventures that lay ahead for our pint-pint sized family!

The cake didn't turn out too awful and I surprised myself with how much fun it was to actually frost something! I became really technical with how I wanted each individual swirl to look, but it didn't end up mattering after all. Those little spots of missing frosting are from January's little fingers. She found the cake early and couldn't resist! hehe

Whilst shopping on Saturday I found the most marvelous dress! I'm wearing it in the first photo and I absolutely adore it. It makes me feel like Zoey Deschanel when I wear it, so classy and sophisticated, with a dash of cuteness. I paired it with my favorite pair of yellow flats from Modcloth to make the yellow in the flowers pop. Target is never a disappointment for finding amazing dresses and I always love going shopping there!

One thing I have noticed about my shopping experiences is that I always seem to buy a lot of things that day that are all of the same color without realizing it! That is until I get home that night to look over what all I've bought. It's kind of funny and it always makes me laugh. Patrick says the color secretly expresses how I'm feeling. This weekends color was a peachy-pink. :)

Does anyone else do this or am I the only one? What are the colors that catch your eye when you go shopping? I hope everyone had a lovely weekend! Happy Sunday!

The Monday of Dares

Today is Monday. Monday's and I have a love/hate relationship I do believe. (I know, I know, it's ridiculous, but it's the way it's been for as long as I can remember.)  The weather was almost perfect today, despite the blustery wind. I almost wore a dress and I am so glad I didn't! It would've turned into a "skirt over head" moment, ah the embarrassment! haha But this Monday was wonderful. Patrick and I took January-Grace to P.I. with us so we could buy her some birthday presents. :) Her birthday is on Saturday and I am so unprepared! I've been stressing out wondering what we should do, as far as presents, party, and cake goes, then I finally decided to just bake cupcakes for her! I'm not the best baker in the world and there was a time when I went through this, "I'll be an amazing baker" phase, which has only left me with ump-tenth amounts of unopened cook books, and no baking experience. So technically this will be my first time of real baking, and I am hoping that they turn out as magnificent as Martha Stewart says they will. *fingers crossed*

Lately I've been thrifting a lot, and I've found some amazing stuff!

001. Okay, I am in love with this find! It's a beautiful Snow White tin that has little scenes from the movie all around it. It's in really good condition and I hope that one day January will want it, but for now it's my new jewelry box. :)

002-005-These are all sneak peaks for some upcoming outfit posts! Stay tuned ;)

I completely forgot to do a Mother's day post! I hope you can forgive me, but I did work that day and as soon as I got home all I wanted to do was cuddle with miss January. I did recieve the most beautiful flowers at work though, which absolutely made my day!

Aren't they lovely! I hope that all you mothers out there had a wonderful Mothers Day and got pampered as much as possible! Happy Monday!

Monday, May 2

Is it the end already?

Today was the last day of my classes!

Ooooo ya! Excited isn't the word for how I felt today as I finished writing my ten page (ya ten pages baby) history paper! :D

Midterms is my excuse for why I've been a horrible blogger lately. :( But this completes my very FIRST year of college!! Holy shiitaki! I'm still in shock..for what reason..I'm not quite sure. I guess never actually thought I would go to college after I had January, being caught up in being a mommy and all, but I decided that I needed to do this for myself and her. So, not to sound tooo conceded or anything...but...I am very proud of myself!

Sweater & Shorts: Sears
Tights: Modcloth
Boots & Purse:Mardens
Hairbow: Claire's

Well with all these happy feelings just bubbling inside me, I just had to celebrate! We ended up taking January to the local playground and going out for ice cream at the dairy bar, (which has the tastiest tasting ice cream I've ever tasted! ).

I put this picture up for laughs. hehe I have quite a weird smile, especially when I smile really big. So here it squinty eyed..beaver dimple..happy smile. :) Have a great Monday lovies!
